postheadericon Caught In The Act by Samantha Hunter

Caught In The Act by Samantha Hunter
Mass Market Paperback: 224 pages (I read the Kindle version)
Publisher: Harlequin (October 1, 2009)
ISBN-13: 978-0373795024

The outfit was ridiculously revealing. Still, food writer Gina Thomas needed a disguise for the costume party…just so she could sneak into divorce lawyer Mason Scott's office and steal a few photos to save her sister—the trouble magnet.

However, the costume seems to bring out the naughtier side of Gina. And Mason can't keep his gorgeous eyes—or his hands—off her! But even as the New-And-Way-Sexier Gina submits to Mason's exquisitely carnal attentions, Practical Gina wonders how long before she's caught red-handed….
Gina agrees to crash the costume party of her brother-in-law’s prominent divorce attorney to steal compromising photos of her sister who is involved in an affair.  When there is a mistake in the shipment of Gina’s ghost costume she ends up having to attend the party as a sexy cabaret singer where she is mistaken for the evenings entertainment. Not wanting to cause a scene, she stumbles her way through a set and manages to attract the attention of the very sexy Mason, who happens to be the divorce lawyer.

When Mason nearly catches Gina in the act of stealing the photos, the attraction between the two is immediate and the sparks fly.  In fact things get down right hot, right there in Mason office. While Gina may think she’s taking a chance in helping her out her sister, she has no idea how dangerous things are about to become.

Mason and Gina’s chemistry was good and I enjoyed their unorthodox courtship.  I liked Gina with her conservative shell, and her inner sexy-beast just waiting for a chance to spring free.  Mason is the quintessential nice guy, who certainly knows how to make a woman feel sexy.

The secondary characters were essential to the plot but I found them hard to like. Most likely because infidelity is a deal breaker for me and I don’t forgive easily on that matter, not even fictional characters. :)

Caught In The Act was an enjoyable, light read and I recommend it for someone looking to curl up on the couch on a lazy afternoon with a romantic story and a happy ending that’s sure to put a grin on your face.

I like heroines who have that "inner sexy-beast." This one sounds really cute.

I'ts been ages since I've read anything by Harlequin. This makes me want to read it "submits to Mason's carnal attentions" *lusty sigh* I loves your hearts for ratings!

Thank you for a wonderful review!

And of course, Mandi and Smokinhotbooks, I think you should give into the urge, LOL. ;)

If you want, however, to get a taste for my writing, in a slightly different venue, I have a related online read (Mason's brother's story -- you meet him briefly in CITA). Here's the link:

Thanks again -- you are all tons of fun, and I love this website!
