Review – Kiss Of Moonlight By Stephanie Julian

Kiss Of Moonlight by Stephanie Julian
E-book - Available October 30, 2009
Publisher: Ellora's Cave Publishing
ISBN: 9781419925399

Plagued by nightmares. Stalked by kidnappers. Tamra McMillan needs a safe haven. When tattooed bad-ass Kyle Rossini steps into her life, the last thing she expects to find is a sanctuary from her demons or steaming hot sex. Everything about him screams danger. But appearances can be deceiving. The tender possessiveness of his touch, the hunger in his eyes, the scorching sensuality of his kiss—all of it sears him into her soul and brands her as his for life.
But otherworldly forces are afoot and death hovers…
Etruscan werewolf Kyle is a loner. The king’s assassin with a killer’s instincts. The last thing he needs is a mate who could be placed in danger because of him. Until he meets the one woman who needs him more than he needs his solitude. When Tamra, battered but not broken, stumbles into his world and tumbles into his bed, she captures his heart. And nothing—not kidnappers or visions of his possible death—will keep him from her.
Kyle is a dangerous killer—an assassin for the Lucani King—a protector of his people.  He avoids close relationships with all but a very few trusted members of his circle and the light of his life is his teenager daughter Cat.

Tamra is healing both emotionally and physically from a brutal attack and kidnapping.  She is on the run, coming to terms with what happened and also avoiding relationships and laying down any roots.  When Tamra moves into her grandfather’s old cabin she befriends a stray pup who turns out to be Cat, Kyle’s werewolf daughter.

Cat persuades Kyle to check on Tamra as she senses she is afraid and lonely.  When they meet face to face, the attraction between the two is undeniable it’s lust at first sight—but they soon realize there’s something more between them. Tamra finds comfort and safety in Kyle’s arms and Kyle suspects he may have found his mate.

When intruders breach the woods near Kyle’s home and break into Tamra’s cabin it soon become clear that her kidnapping ordeal is not over and her life is still in danger.  Kyle will risk death to keep her safe.

This is a hot, steamy read and Kyle may be a bad-ass assassin but he is also one considerate lover.  At one point he pulls his car off to the side of the road and makes passionate love to Tamara because he wants to make sure she is “relaxed" for her meeting with the pack seer.  Now that’s my kind of lover. *waggles eyebrows*

Kiss Of Moonlight is the first book in the Lucani Lovers series  and the author lays a good foundation for future books.  The secondary characters are interesting and show promise for compelling twists and turns within Ms. Julian’s Lucani world. The epilogue sets the scene for what I suspect could be a very interesting threesome in the next book in the series. Fingers crossed.

It's been too long since I downloaded a good Ebook from EC, I think I'm getting twitchy. Seriously why can't my husband make passionate love before my big corporate company meetings...

LOL KC!! It can't be just plain ol' mad passionate love. It has to be the "on the side of the road, throw you on the hood kind" to be effective.

Hot damn! Sounds like some good smut! And just look at that cover! Is it hot in here...?

@bookvixen-I didn't really care for the cover. I suppose it's because it's not at all how I pictured Kyle. My Kyle is so much more bad-ass, with cool tats and not as muscle bound. I hate it when the cover doesn't match my hero/heroine. But I guess you can't please everyone right? lol

The cover is just ugh but the book sounds good. And now it's on my to-buy list.

I love paranormal romance, urban fantasy, historical romance with a nice bit of erotic romance thrown in for good measure. Although I enjoy my fantasy world of alpha males, and the kick ass females who love them, my inner teenage girl has been known to stalk the book stores and libraries for all the latest YA offerings as well.
