The Hero: Michael is a special ops soldier who has been injected with alien DNA and now has special abilities like talking to the wind or windwalking. I can’t forget to mention he has blue eyes and long black hair that falls across his shoulders. He’s definitely hot and has that whole alpha male thing going on….but he’s also a man of few words.
The Heroine: Cassandra has daddy issues and daddy is in charge. She’s smart but naive and often wishy-washy. She’s been hired to work at the top secret military base that Michael is at to study these “super soldiers”. One day she crashes into Michael into the hall while at work and finds herself instantly attracted to him. Michael can’t get her out of his mind.
What Worked: I liked the premise of the story – these super soldiers and the whole good versus evil thing. I felt the plot was easy to follow and I definitely liked Michael and his mysterious personality. There were moments of suspense and some good action scenes.
What Didn’t Work: The story kept jumping ahead not allowing me to get fully invested in a relationship between Michael and Cassandra. It skips by their first two weeks of dating, then at one point it jumps six months past the beginning of their relationship, then another part jumps forward 2 years. At one point we find Cassandra in Germany and then she’s back in the states with several more months going by. I also didn’t care for Cassandra’s trusting of her father after so much time had gone by. I just didn’t understand it. All the jumping around and the lack of romance between Michael and Cassandra started to turn me off from the book and left me frustrated an disinterested until I ended up putting the down and not picking it back up again.
Final Conclusion: If you like Sci-fi/paranormal books with not as much emphasis on romance maybe this book will work for you. However, the confusing timeline and lack luster romance left me disappointed to the point where I did not want to continue reading.

Bummer. I dislike time jumps in books unless there is a good reason for them. It doesn’t seem like there was here.

There was a book out awhile back called My Man Michael…I wonder if it is the same author?
This was a huge DNF for me as well. And I was bummed because the blurb had me all excited. WTF with the massive time jumps??

I was scared too but it was ok. Nothing I would rave about, but ok
I love sci-fi romance and I couldn’t finish this one. Thank you for clearly articulating why I didn’t like it! The premise was so promising, but the execution fell flat, as did the romance.
