Book News – Covers – Upcoming Releases!

Defiant by Pamela Clare, third book of the Mackinnon’s Rangers series, will be released on February 7th.  I’ve seen this author’s name crop up more and more in recent months, so I imagine there will be quite a few people eager to get their hands on this one.

The second book in the Blood Moon Rising series, Bloodright by Karin Tabke, will be released on February 7th.  Something about the heroine’s expression is really working for me.  It’s confident, almost a bit smug.  Whatever it is, I like it.

I haven’t read it yet, but I’ve heard awesome things about the first book in the Ministry of Marriage series by Christina Brooke.  I’m intrigued and plan to try Mad About the Earl, the second book in the series, as soon as it releases on January 3rd.

A Demon Does it Better by Linda Wisdom is slated for release on January 1st. I’ve heard that the first book in the Demons series was on the lighter side, so if you’re in the mood for that, you might want to check this one out.

You can look for the fourth installment of the Sabina Kane series, Silver-Tongued Devil by Jaye Wells, on January 1st. I’m not really feeling this cover. The color tone combined with the skinniness of the model are giving off a corpse-like vibe.

It looks like there’ll soon be a new offering for all the angel fans in PNR. Avenger’s Angel by Heather Killough-Walden will be out on November 1st and seems to be the first book in a brand new series. I like angels, but the summary on Goodreads has me uncertain about whether or not I would actually like this take on it. What do you guys think?

NEWS:

For all you fans of Simon R. Green’s Nightside series, it looks like the twelfth book, The Bride Wore Black Leathers, will be the final book in the series.  There’s no cover yet, but I’ll keep an eye out for it.

*****

The next book in Katie MacAlister’s Light Dragons series, The Curious Incident of a Dragon, will be released May 1st.  Has anyone read this series?  Is it good?  The only MacAlister book I’ve read so far has been Noble Intentions.

Sacrificial Magic, book four in the Downside Ghosts series by Stacia Kane will be released March 27th.  There’s no cover yet, but the author has seen the initial draft and the final version should be coming soon.  Also, the title of the the fifth book has been released–Chasing Magic!

Shiloh Walker has a new book coming out in her Hunters series.  Set your calendars, people.  Hunter’s Rise will be released April 3rd.

I think I need to read Jaye Wells. She writes the kind of books I think I would really like. Plus I enjoy her on Twitter :)

Can’t wait for more Downside!!! <3 Terrible :)

  2. Cindi says:

Yeah, I’ve been meaning to start her series too.

Katie McAlister is a good author; I really enjoy her Dragon books! She also seems to know when to spin off to secondary characters so you don’t get bored with the previous ones. No beating a dead horse. Er, dragon, rather ;)

  3. Ammarylis says:

Yay for the next book in the “Light Dragons” series! Woot woot! Catherine, you have to read this series! But you’ve gotta start with “You Slay Me” since there are 3 series & they all have connected characters. MacAlister’s “Men in Kilts” is pretty good too.

I like most of the covers-especially “A Demon Does it Better”-but the cover for “Defiant” looks absolutely freaking ridiculous IMO. It looks almost exactly like the cover for Cassie Edwards “Savage Heart”. *shudder*

  4. Cindi says:

Amarylis, I forgot about Men in Kilts! I bet I’ve reread that book half a dozen times just to see if it is still as hilarious (it is).

  5. Kim says:

I absolutely love Katie MacAlister! Her Dark One and Dragon series are amazing. Very light, but action packed and seriously hot. At least in my humble opinion ;)

Loved Linda Wisdom’s “Demons Are A Girl’s Best Friend” though I’m not sure I’d call it light. The rest of the books in her Hex series were light, but all were great reads. Can’t wait to read the next and see what these sassy Witches get up to.

I saw this post and thought, “Angels and Demons, oh my!”

  7. KC says:

I’m so excited about the new Downside books I squealed. Out Loud. At Work.

last test…then my head explodes. I mean it.
