Fiction Vixen is pleased to welcome author Jill Shalvis today. Samantha and I are both fans and we had the opportunity to ask her the following the questions:
FVBR: In Animal Attraction, Jade has this love for keeping things organized and in perfect order…pencils all lined up, the desk clear of clutter, spreadsheets of to do lists. Really, all these things melt my heart. What’s your organization style like? Any little bit of Jade in you?
JS: There is NO Jade in me. I have no organization skills whatsoever, so I definitely was envious of my own heroine. 
FVBR: I loved the way Dell worked with the animals and his calm and reassuring nature with them. It really showed a lot about what type of man he really is. Do animals play a part in your life at all?
JS: Animal play a huge part of my life. We’ve done a lot of animal rescue, and usually have quite the houseful. Right now it’s a grumpy cat who was found at two days old, a year and a half year old black lab pup we rescued from the middle of Nowhere, Nevada and nursed back to health, and a twelve year old Australian Blue Heeler/Collie mix that we found in a box.
FVBR: As all readers of this book are probably dying to know, when will we get Adam’s story? Any tidbits you can give us?
JS: Adam’s story is coming in the later part of 2012. No title yet but we’re working on it! And then … there will be a fourth book as well. Shh, don’t tell.
FVBR: I really like the “Making Of” section of your website where you share your inspiration for the books you’ve written. I especially enjoyed reading about your inspiration for Animal Magnetism. Can you tell us where the idea for Animal Attraction came from?
JS: I just always wanted to write a vet hero, a guy who felt more comfortable with animals than his own species. A big, sexy, laid-back guy that no one would suspect of having his own fears and doubts.
FVBR: You’ve enjoyed great success in your writing career as the author of over four dozen romance novels. Who you say is your favorite character out of all of them and why?
JS: My favorite is always the hero I’m currently writing. They all look and act different, but their heart is always the same. Big and fathomless.
FVBR: I have authors that are on my auto-buy list and that list continues to grow. Do you have any authors on your list that you will read anything the write they minute it’s available?
JS: Far too many to name… I have a bit of a book buying habit. It’s only gotten worse since I got a Kindle, who I want to marry and have its babies.
