Random Friday: Lothaire, Patrick Dempsey, eBook Deals, and Naked In Death

It’s Friday again and thank goodness!! Let’s get right to the Random Friday stuff shall we?

The back cover copy for Lothaire was posted on Kresley Cole’s Facebook page yesterday. (Ehh, that cover)

Kresley Cole - Lothaire

Here it is:

#1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole continues her electrifying Immortals After Dark series with this thrilling tale, revealing secrets of the Lore, fierce realm of the immortals. . . .

ALL FEAR THE ENEMY OF OLD

Driven by his insatiable need for revenge, Lothaire, the Lore’s most ruthless vampire, plots to seize the Horde’s crown. But bloodlust and torture have left him on the brink of madness—until he finds Elizabeth Peirce, the key to his victory. He captures the unique young mortal, intending to offer up her very soul in exchange for power, yet Elizabeth soothes his tormented mind and awakens within him emotions Lothaire believed he could no longer experience.

A DEADLY FORCE DWELLS WITHIN HER

Growing up in desperate poverty, Ellie Peirce yearned for a better life, never imagining she’d be convicted of murder—or that an evil immortal would abduct her from death row. But Lothaire is no savior, as he himself plans to sacrifice Ellie in one month’s time. And yet the vampire seems to ache for her touch, showering her with wealth and sexual pleasure. In a bid to save her soul, Ellie surrenders her body to the wicked vampire, while vowing to protect her heart.

CENTURIES OF COLD INDIFFERENCE SHATTERED

Elizabeth tempts Lothaire beyond reason, as only his fated mate could. As the month draws to a close, he must choose between a millennia-old blood vendetta and his irresistible prisoner. Will Lothaire succumb to the miseries of his past . . . or risk everything for a future with her?

Seriously I need this book YESTERDAY.

Ok so the really big news this week comes from Samantha, reviewer here at FV. As many of you know she kicks ass and takes names on two wheels and is always doing something awesome. Check this out:

Yes, that’s right, that’s our very own kick ass Fiction Vixen reviewer with rubbing up on the one and only Patrick Dempsey. You should see the pics I couldn’t post. *waggles eyebrows* Here’s what she says about it:

On Saturday, October 1, I rode in Levi Leipheimer’s King Ridge GranFondo charity ride in Santa Rosa, CA with 7,500 other cyclists. It supports Livestrong, local cycling initiatives in Sonoma County, and At-Risk Youth Programs. Levi is a professional champion cyclist and all around badass. But the highlight for me of course was getting my picture taken with Patrick Dempsey. He may be McDreamy to some but to me he’ll always live in my heart as Ronald Miller from Can’t Buy Me Love. Standing next to him all I could think about was how spectacular it would be to slowly lick the side of his face.

Go Samantha!! :)

I’m listening to Naked In Death by J.D. Robb. I know I’m late to the party but I’ve arrived now and I like it! This is one of the best audio books I’ve ever listened to. Not only is the book awesome but the narrator, Susan Ericksen is amazing. I might be a little in love with this book and I’m even thinking I might need to buy a print copy for my shelf. If you haven’t tried audio books and are looking for a good one to start with I recommend this one.

Comments

  1. Jen says:

Ok, I just started the In Death series on audio book too. I was completely hooked after book 1. I think I am a little stupid over Roarke and have been kicking myself for not picking up this series sooner. 33 books is intimidating though! Anyway, I am finishing book 6 right now. Ericksen continues to be fantastic.

Just grabbed Lord and Lady spy. Thanks for the link!

  2. Ericksen does an amazing job with the In Death Series. <3

    RIP Steve Jobs

    AWESOMENESS SAMANTHA!!!!

I friggin can't wait for Lothaire!!

  3. Carolyn Crane says:

I came over here thinking you HAD that Lothaire, like an ARC, for Friday Reads, and I was going to rail and wail! Happy to see the back cover copy, though! I love when she had a mortal in the plot. Thanks for the e-deals, too!

  4. Janna says:

*swoon* how awesome that Samantha got to rub up on PD! *so jealous*
Thanks for the ebook deals, Sophia!

  5. Oh……..wow…….I’m going to need a few minutes to recover after reading the blurb for Lothaire.

  6. Rain maiden/Jen says:

Yea not diggin Kresley’s new cover…oh well it will be in hardback so that means I can take the cover off while I read it. :) . Patrick looks good in bike gear. Have a great weekend everyone!

  7. KB/KT Grant says:

How wonderful for Samantha! Always great to see someone meet a celebrity and have them be nice.

((ROARKE)) and his button fetish! *swoon*

  8. Mandi says:

I NEED Lothaire’s book. Like now. The heroine has me totally intrigued!

That is an AWESOME pic of Samatha and McDreamy. LE SIGH!

So glad you are reading Roarke!! Lurve him

  9. OMG Samantha!! You lucky girl, you! You got to touch McDreamy!!! *dies*

    RIP Steve Jobs.

  10. LethalLovely says:

Call me insane, but I’m happier to see a pic of a fellow blogger with Dempsey than I am at the back blurb of “Lothaire.” Yes, the cover sucks. Yes, I like Lothaire & will definitely read his book. But Patrick Dempsey is hot! Go, Samantha! I will not hold a grudge with you for wanting to lick his face-as long as you know that I’ve called Dibs on the other side.

    • Sophia (FV) says:

Plus Patrick Dempsey is real and potentially lick-able. Just as Samantha. 8)

      • LethalLovely says:

LOL! There is that. I can delude myself into think PD will wake up one morning-with wood-& think “I MUST be with LethalLovely! She is my heart! My heart!” *swoons*

If I start thinking Lothaire will climb out of his book & search for me, I might end up locked in the looney bin.

  11. Ava March says:

Samantha should have totally gone in for the lick. ;) He even looks hot in a bike helmet.

  12. Samantha says:

His face is truly dreamy! And he was very sweet. Couldn’t believe he grabbed ahold of me and pulled me in like that. Was so not expecting that. What a day on the bike!

  13. Dianna says:

I really need to go and pre-order Lothaire, I’m so looking forward to it. I love the cover too. And yes, I agree with you, I need that book like, yesterday.

  14. twimom227 says:

Go Samantha! That is go awesome!

  15. Danmark says:

Such a great post, Danielle! It’s a worthy concern, but there’s also a great opportunity for real redemption. If he is to be a hero, imagine what’s going to be necessary for us to buy that — for anyone to accept him. I like it when they bring the emotional heavy, and Kresley Cole can certainly twist it enough to make everyone accept him as a hero. Or at least I hope so.
