Zomgosh, it’s Friday again. Before you know it it’ll be next year! o_0
So last weekend I finally took the plunge and had Fiction Vixen migrated to a new server. Hopefully this will improve stability and keep us zippy fast and make visiting Fiction Vixen a more pleasurable experience. If you notice any oddities, outside what you’ve come to expect, please let me know. Moving house always seems to turn up the weird forgotten stuff.

Kindle Fire Autopsy
For those of you who are a little nerdy like me and like the see the guts of your electronics, here is a no-risk way to see what’s inside your Kindle Fire. This vid is about 10 minutes long and not edited very much so it’s a little slow but 2:06 they finally get it open, and around 7:00 they remove the internal frame of the Fire.
My Kindle Fire can stop hiding now, it’s safe. I’ve seen the inside.

Speaking of the Kindle Fire, I got my Marware cover and I really like it.

The hand strap on the back makes it much easier to hold while using the device. I’m going to write a review on soon.

So not only am I out of touch in romancelandia at the moment but I’m also out of touch in the kitchen. I’m in charge of the cooking in my house and I’m so out of ideas. Tell me where you get your meal planning ideas and favorite recipes. Please, my family begs this of you.

It’s been a while since we had a llama on Random Friday. Here is Christmas llama:

Everyone in my house loves this pork tenderloin recipe! Even the kids ask for seconds.
Ingredients
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons sherry
1 1/2 teaspoons dried minced onion
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 pinch garlic powder
2 (3/4 pound) pork tenderloins
Directions
1.Place soy sauce, brown sugar, sherry, dried onion, olive oil, and a touch of garlic powder in a large resealable plastic bag. Seal, and shake to mix. Place pork in bag with marinade, seal, and refrigerate for 6 to 12 hours.
2.Preheat grill for medium heat.
3.Place tenderloins on grill. Cook 15 minutes, then turn meat and cook 15 minutes more or to desired doneness. Slice into medallions, and serve.
*I usually save the left-over marinade, heat it well on the stovetop and pour over the meat after I slice it up.
Yum!
Oh that sounds delish! Thanks for that. What do you serve with it?
It’s really good with scalloped potatoes and perhaps steamed broccoli or green beans.
Will you go to the grocery store for me now?
LOL.
check out pinterest for all kinds of awesome recipe and meal planning ideas. Search “meal planning”
Oh duh!! Pinterest!! Another reason to love.
Ooh glad to hear you like your Kindle Fire cover – mine is on it’s way. I hate when I can’t see it first.
Yes that is the downside of ordering online. Luckily it worked out. Which cover did you order? The eco-vue?
Thanks for the heads-up on Touch of Frost. I’ve been dying to start that series, but I hate paying Agency prices for ebooks so I hadn’t gotten it yet. I know what I’ll be buying on 12/5.
As for cooking, if you like Mexican food, Ilona Andrews posted a link for a slow-cooker carnitas recipe a few weeks ago. I made it yesterday and it was fantastic. The recipe is at Allrecipes.com. Just search for “slow cooker carnitas” and you’ll find it, then follow the modifications suggested by the first reviewer “naples34102″. Yum.
Oh thanks, I’ll check it out. I love carnitas!
I love this recipe for Beef Bulgogi. It’s very yum! (I originally found it on allrecipes.com)
Ingredients
1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced
5 tablespoons soy sauce
2 1/2 tablespoons white sugar
1/4 cup chopped green onion
2 tablespoons minced garlic
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions
1. Place the beef in a shallow dish. Combine soy sauce, sugar, green onion, garlic, sesame seeds, sesame oil, and ground black pepper in a small bowl. Pour over beef. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
2. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat, and lightly oil the grate.
3. Quickly grill beef on hot grill until slightly charred and cooked through, 1 to 2 minutes per side.
I serve this with Jasmine rice. I absolutely love how delicious and easy it is! Since I know I enjoy eating it, I usually prep a couple meals of it at once. I put the meat and marinade mixture in ziploc bags (or vacuum sealed bags) and freeze them. The flavor will have plenty of time to sink in when you pull it out to thaw.
Sounds delicious. What kind of veggies do you serve with this ?
I don’t do any veggies with it. I prefer the meat to stand alone in this dish.
Ill give it a try. If we like it ill prepare ahead of time and freeze. Thanks.
I hope you like it.
I’m not very kitchen savvy so I go to Foodnetwork.com. I like that everything is put into categories so it pretty easy to find the recipe you’re looking for and it lets you know how difficult it is to prepare. I definitely stick with easy
What are you two cooking up? I am so curious now
