Reading Roundup – September 2010

It’s reading roundup time!  September was an average month volume wise, I read thirteen books, and it was a great month for really good books

Here are the stats for my September reading roundup:

  • 2 – 5 heart ratings
  • 3 – 4.5 heart ratings
  • 5 – 4 heart ratings
  • 2 – 3.5 heart ratings
  • 1 – 1 heart rating

I Spy a Naughty Game (Shado Agency, #2) by Jo Davis
1 Hearts
As you can see by my rating this book was not for me.  Most of the book seemed to unlikely and implausible I had a hard time getting into the story.  I was disappointed.

Spider’s Bite (Elemental Assassin, #1) by Jennifer Estep
4.5 Hearts
I was excited when I got the opportunity to read this series back to back.  It’s a series that has been on my list to read since I’ve heard such great things about it.  I was not disappointed.  Great world, bad ass heroine, and great action.  Loved it.

Web of Lies (Elemental Assassin, #2) by Jennifer Estep
4.5 Hearts
Again, loved this one.  Gin is on my favorite heroines list for sure!

Venom (Elemental Assassin, #3) by Jennifer Estep
5 Hearts
My favorite of the series so far.  I really like Gin’s love interest and the ending on this one was awesome.  Can’t wait for Tangled Threads.

Size Matters by Stephanie Julian
4 Hearts
A really funny, sexy quick read.  Big Foot.  Who doesn’t love Big Foot?

Bone Crossed (Mercedes Thompson, #4) by Patricia Briggs
4.5 Hearts
This was my favorite book in the series so far.  Mercy has grown so much and it’s amazing to see her relationship with Adam evolve.  *le sigh*

Backstage Pass: Sinners on Tour by Olivia Cunning
4 Hearts
OMG, this was so funny and over the top sexy.  I want to go on tour with the Sinners.  Ok, I don’t but I want the rest of the books in the series so I can read about it.  I’ll have a review on the blog in a week or so and Olivia Cunning will be stopping by for a guest post.

Coming Clean by Inez Kelley
4 Hearts
To quote my review, “Holy smokin’ hotness!”.  I want more Inez Kelley books.  Now!!

Double Cross by Carolyn Crane
5 Hearts
Straight to my top ten for 2010.  Carolyn Crane is simply diabolical.  This was so cleverly written and just completely wonderful.  Must read for 2010.

Willing Victim by Cara McKenna
4 Hearts
I never would have believed you if you told me I’d like this book.  But I was really surprised that I did.  I’m still getting my thoughts together and I will have a review on the blog soon.

Primal Pleasure (Pendragon Gargoyles, #3) by Sydney Somers
3.5 Hearts
Another good installment in the Pendragon Gargoyles series.  This was not my favorite, but I did enjoy it and I’m looking forward to more.

Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
4 Hearts
I may change my rating on this one, I’m still thinking about it.  I really liked this book a lot and it was not at all what I expected.  If you’re on the fence about reading this book, I say do it.

Hunger Undone by J.A. Saare
3.5 Hearts
A short story from J.A. Saare.  It’s basically a very sexy story about fated mates.  I love J.A. Saare’s voice.  Review is coming soon.

That was my month in books.  How did you do in September?  Anything I need to move up on my TBR shelf?  I’m currently reading Bayou Moon by Ilona Andrews and will be starting Catching Fire, the second book in the Hunger Games Trilogy.

The Inez Kelley book looks really good! I need to wander on over to Carina's website and pick it up.

You're the queen of great series! You're always adding another one to my tbb list, now it's the Elemental Assassin series. I like it that it only has three books out (yet), which makes it a little bit easier to jump on the bandwagon. :)
But I promised myself to read the Demonica series first…

Yeah, I loved Big Foot too!
