Believe
Writing isn’t something for the weak at heart. You must have a strong backbone and believe in yourself. There are going to be times you are turned down and hear things that might hurt your feelings about your writing, but overall it will make you a strong person and a better writer.
Between the time that my story was accepted and the time it was published there were a number of edits and helpful advice to help get The Twelve Seductive Days of Christmas to where it ended up.
I believe you can never know if you are any good at whatever you do, such as writing, until you put yourself out there. I took the chance with The Twelve Seductive Days of Christmas, you could say I put my heart on the line. I knew that if the publisher hated the story it was going to hurt but hopefully it would make me look into myself and improve.
I personally found the title of the Christmas anthology, Believe, to be very appropriate. I had to believe in myself, and my work or I wouldn’t have taken the change I did.
Which leads me the my question, when did you have to put something on the line and Believe in yourself? Answer this question and possibly win an e-book (PDF) copy of Believe. There will be one lucky winner chosen.
Contest open until Dec. 8, winner announced soon after. Open to all.

Post Author Info:

When I had kidlet she was 3 mons premature. When she finally left the hospital I had to make a choice. She couldn’t be in daycare due to complications and work for hubs was drying up. So in one swoop I quit a well paying job with mucho bennies and moved to a state where I knew 3 people (2 of them lived with me). I couldn’t work outside the home so I decided to finally do what I had always wanted-selling consignment online. It was extremely hard but after 7 years I’ve built up a solid reputation, make enough money to support my family if need be, and have a job that I can do anywhere, at anytime, in my pj’s. All because I had enough faith in myself to close my eyes and leap.
Tori–That is awesome! I never knew that about you.
Hi Marissa

Thank you for sharing here today.
When I asked my (ex)wife to marry me, I put myself on the line & believed in myself.
All the best,
RKCharron

Tori that is wonderful. Thank you for sharing that. How old is your daughter now?
RKCarron, yes you did, and I am sorry to hear it didn’t work out better for you and your ex-wife.
Marissa-She’s 9 and she tells the world that her mommy “shops” for a living. LOL

T you are like my hero, for reals.
I’m still thinking….I’m going to need more coffee
Nice guest post.
Thank you KC. I know what you mean about coffee. I could use another pot or two myself
When my hubby asked me out a second time around after breaking up with me the first time. I put my heart on the line again and believed everything would be fine which it is. Because we are married. Please enter me in contest.
Victoria that is sweet. How long have you two been married?
