Reading Roundup–October 2010

Yay, October is over, I can breath now and get ready for the holidays. Apparently someone told my family that October was the month to have babies so we party all month. I’m sick of birthday cake but I still managed to get some reading done.
Here are the stats for my October reading roundup:
- 1 – 5 heart rating
- 1 – 4.5 heart rating
- 5 – 4 heart ratings
- 2 – 3.5 heart ratings

- 2 DNF’s
Poison Kissed By: Erica Hayes
DNF
This was a very dark Urban Fantasy with lots of sex. I don’t mind dark and I definitely don’t mind sex but this one was just a little too dark for me and combined with the sex I decided to put it down for now.
Ruin Me By: Cara McKenna

I really like this authors unique style and want to read more from her. She pushes the limits a bit but does it in a way that doesn’t push me too far. I read this one in one sitting.
Proof by Seduction By: Courtney Milan

Thank you Mandi at Smexy Books for recommending this book. Courtney Milan has a lovely voice and I just adored this book. More please!
Trial by Desire By: Courtney Milan
4.5 hearts
I fell for Ned in Proof by Seduction, he was just so sweet and vulnerable. He’s all grown up in TBD and yowza! Ned, my man. I lurve you!
Hard to Hold By: Julie Leto
2.5 hearts
This was a reality based romance and while it was a nice story, it just didn’t have the umph factor I need in romance.
Seven Nights to Forever By: Evangeline Collins
4 hearts
I loved this book. Loved it! The hero and heroine were so lovely and their love story was a bit out of the ordinary.
Second Chances By: Lauren Dane
3.5 hearts
Another ‘not your typical romance’ book. I had an issue or two but over all I really enjoyed this one from Lauren Dane.
Angelic Surrender By: Crista McHugh
DNF
I don’t think there was anything particularly wrong with this book, I think I’m just not feeling the fallen angel trend. I enjoyed the first book in this series and I will most likely check out the next book.
Inside Out By: Lauren Dane

Oh I love the Brown siblings. They are a group you just want to hang out with. Cope and Ella are great together. Lots of good stuff in this one, I’ll have a review on the blog soon.
Forsaken By Shadow By: Kait Nolan
4 hearts
This book had me right from the beginning. Something a little different in PNR, at least I haven’t read anything similar. Review coming soon.
Shaken By: Dee Tenorio

Please pass the tissues, this one will make you cry. There is a HEA but getting there will cost you a few tears.
Catching Fire By: Suzanne Collins
5 hearts
The best YA series I’ve read. This book was intense, action packed and fabulous all over. Mockingjay here I come.
Montana Glory By: R.C. Ryan
3.5 hearts
Last book in the series, nicely wrapped up, but I had a few complaints. Review posted earlier today with a chance to win a copy.
That was my month in books. Not a bad month at all. I hope your October reading was as enjoyable as mine! Let’s do this again next month. ![]()

Post Author Info:

Yay for Courtney Milan love. She writes the best books. January is her next one..yay.
LOVED Seven Nights to Forever..and enjoyed Inside Out. Totally agree with you on Hard to Hold.
Gee, do we have similar tastes? ;p
I NEED to read Hunger Games..it's waiting for me on my Kindle….
Yes, I think we can safely say we have similar taste in books Mandi LOL. I am liking historicals more and more lately.
Very nice month! And I suppose that with the amount of books you receive and read, two dnf is not too bad…lol I have trouble with historicals, but maybe I should give Courtney Milan a try. I do have her first book in my book closet.
That's not a bad grouping! It looks like you enjoyed most of them.
