Random Friday – Hazmat, Fever, Sexapalooza and Rock Hard
It’s going to be a long weekend at Casa Vixen. The kiddos are home sick today. Boo! Runny noses suck! Leave my kids alone you nasty germs!
I’m holding my breath for at least three days. For once I don’t want to get the cold. I mean it, I refuse to breathe! I can’t decide if I should go with a haz-mat suit or if I should just put the kids in a bubble until the germ threat has passed. I know I sound totally mean, but really I’m not. I’m not I swear!

It’s Sexaplalooza week over at Dirty Sexy Books. All week has been dedicated to reading and reviewing erotic collections. HERE is the schedule, you can easily find individual posts in the sidebar.

Nalini Singh announced the title for the next Guild Hunter book. It’s Dmitri’s story and it will be called Archangel’s Blade, release is set for September 2011. She shared a line from the book as well:
Turning on his heel, he began to prowl around her apartment. You haven’t met “her” yet.
We’ll have a review of Achangel’s Consort on the blog in a few days.

Rachel Vincent’s new adult series will be called “Unbound”. The first book, currently scheduled for September 1, 2011, will be called BLOOD BOUND. She’s already posted a FAQ section about the series HERE. I’m looking forward to starting another series by Rachel Vincent.

So Moning Maniacs, who’s excited? Did you catch the Dreamfever discussion over at Smexybooks yesterday? My head nearly exploded with all the speculation and theories. Here are links for the entire discussion series: Darkfever discussion HERE, Bloodfever discussion HERE, Faefever Discussion HERE, Dreamfever discussion HERE.

I blew through the Wallflower and Hathaway series’ by Lisa Kleypas and loved every minute of it. I think I might have a new favorite author. Her historicals are amazing, and I’m eager to give her contemporaries a try. I’m going to take a little Kleypas break so I don’t burn out, but I’ll be back! Right now I’m listening to Soulless by Gail Carriger. I love the wit and humor but I’m a little disappointed in the lack of actual steampunk. It was recommended to me to as a good steampunk read but it doesn’t seem that steampunky. Growly werewolf just laid a big fat passionate kiss on our Miss Tarabotti and she liked it. *waggles eyebrows*.
I’m also just finishing up Icebreaker by Deidre Martin – review coming soon, and I have This Side Of The Grave by Jeaniene Frost on deck (squee). That should hold me over until Tuesday right? I also have a copy of His Client by Ava March I’m itching to get to. It’s m/m with kink. *g* And….I just found out I’ll be getting an ARC of Rock Hard by Olivia Cunning. Could my reading line up be any better?
With all the great reads I have ahead of me I’m pretty much out of my mind with anticipation. This is me if I were a llama:

That’s all folks! Have a wonderful weekend!

Post Author Info:

Oh noes. Sick kidlets-yuck. Hope everyone feels better soon.
Can’t wait for Dimitri and Barrons. YUMMY MC YUm YUm.
Lucky you!! I can’t wait to read Rock Hard.
Oh Sophia, you would make one lovely llama. *crosses fingers behind back…and toes for good measure*
Happy Weekend!
@Julie: Yes, it was the bugged out eye that clinched it for me.
So jelly of your reading line up!
BONES!
I don’t think Soulless is very heavy in Steampunkishness either. It’s like Steampunk-lite. The second book had a lot more Steampunk in it though.
I’m excited to read Dmitri’s book later this year! But this doesn’t mean that Elena and Raphael won’t have any more books, does it?
Crap! I forgot to close the tag!
Your reading line up is great! Which reminds me I need to get The Client, as in now!
I hope you can fight the germs off succesfully, hon!
Have a great weekend!
Oh I hope the kiddos are ok. We’ve had an explosion of kids in the UC b/c of colds, sinus infections, and breathing issues.
That llama is creepy… I’ve never met you, but I’m 100% positive you would a much prettier llama!
Since you loved the Kleypas books, have you read Julia Quinn’s The Bridgerton series? She writes my all time favorite historicals.
YAY, I can’t wait to hear more about Vincent’s new series.
*sits down to wait*
is it here yet?
@MinnChica: Oh I will have to check her out. I’ve never read Julia Quinn. Thanks for the rec.
I really shouldn’t be this excited for Dmitri’s story when I just finished Consort…but I am! Yeah, Nalini – you rock.
I’d stay away from the kids while breathing as much as possible. I was just out for 2 days and it was horrible!
This is me if I were a llama
*snort* you’re funny.
Ugh – sick kids – it’s a vishous (he!) cycle
I’m sooo excited about Shadowfever – can’t wait to get my hands on that book! And Rock Hard – I’m looking forward to that one too.
My daughter does this llama rhyming game thing, and every time she does it I think of you. I’m gonna have to get it on video and post it for you.
@Patti (Book Addict): You know Patti, there are times when I cannot think of how to spell that word correctly. JR Ward has ruined me. lol
And yes, get that on video! LOL
The haz-mat suit isn’t very attractive. I vote for putting the kids in a bubble. You can throw toys and snacks in there for them. They’ll be fine. Really.
LMAO at the llama!! That’s an awesome pic
@Ava March: You’re right, the bubble would be far more convenient for me. I’m going with the bubble.
eww..don’t even breathe through the internet, okay!
I wants all those books you mentioned. Especially the next Sinners book..oh baby.
The second Carriger book has much more steampunk..but for true punk I think you have to hit up the Iron Duke.
Hope the kiddos feel better soon.
Is it Tuesday yet?
Hope you stay well! No sick for you…
I love how Nalini gives her readers just a tease. She rocks!
My weekend doesn’t start until I see some hot llama love here
I definitely thought Soulless was not steampunk, more like a Victorian comedy of manners with paranormals and a dash of inventions. So then I was quite surprised at how steampunkish Changeless and Blameless were. She definitely ratchets it up in those two books.
@Mandi Schreiner: Iron Duke, I promise…coming up.
@twimom227: That’s right, no sick for me. I can’t read Shadowfever sick. I can’t!
@KB/KT Grant: Glad we can accommodate
@JenM: I’m really enjoying Soulless but I’m looking forward to the next books since I really want to read a SP.
Hey Sophia, sick kids *ugh* I hope the force is strong with you because next week we have to be at our fittest for the Shadowfever read. I didn’t get to re-read all of them but I hope my sunday evening is spent with Faefever
Right now I’m reading Archangel’s Consort and I’m loving it all up, good to know Dmitri is getting his own book. I really like his attitude
You got Rock Hard as an ARC *drool*
Enjoy it!
Hope the kiddies feel better soon! Don’t give up on Soulless…it is such a fun book. Very unique…there is more steampunk stuff in the later installments of the series.
@Leontine: Oh Yay, you’re reading Archangels Consort! Glad to hear you’re liking it. Yes, we need to be in tip top shape for Tuesday. I’m in training now! I have the optometrist on the line now making a spare set of reading glasses just in case! lol
@Penelope: Oh I’m really enjoying Soulless. Very funny. I love Miss Tarabotti! I’m looking forward to the next books as well.
Yes, I agree with MinnChica, Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton books are great — at least the first 5 of them I’ve just read in the last month were! I’m hesitant to read the 6th book as the reviews for it do not look promising.
I also love Lisa Kleypas, and I think I might have more love for her contemps than the historicals… maybe because I read them more recently, but that Jack Travis? Yummmm! (He’s in the third one: Smooth Talking Stranger)
@pamelia: Everyone always mentions Jack Travis when I say I like Lisa Kleypas. I must meet him soon!
LMAO!!!!! Love the Llama pictures they always make me smile. I really hope the kids get to feeling better and you avoid the sickness!!!!
*Raising my hand and jumping up and down yelling…* “ME, ME, ME, ME!!!!!!” I am so excited for the release of Shadowfever on Tuesday! Just get here already. LOL!
