Reading Roundup – December 2010
Happy New Year!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are enjoying the first day of 2011!
Boy was I a lazy reader in December. I didn’t do very much actual reading, instead I let my hair down and enjoyed the holiday. I cooked and baked yummy treats, shopped, wrapped presents, decorated and got ready for a visit from the big guy in red. I have 14 books on my roundup list this month but a good deal of them are audio books. I love to listen to audio books while I cook etc. so I got through several books that way last month.
Here are the stats for my December reading roundup:
- 3 – 5 heart ratings
- 7 – 4 heart ratings
- 1 – 3.5 heart rating
- 1 – 3 heart ratings
- 2 – DNF
Liberating Lacey by Anne Calhoun DNF
With all the chatter and rave reviews I think I just expected more. There is a lot of sex in this one starting right from the beginning and by 50% I wasn’t picking up on the emotional attachment between characters so I stopped. I might pick this one up again later when I’m in a different frame of mind.
Naughty and Nice by Jaci Burton, Shannon Stacy, Lauren Dane and Megan Hart 4 hearts
I really enjoyed this antho. The contributions by Jaci Burton and Shannon Stacey were my favorites, my first time reading both of these authors as well. Review to come.
Bloodfever (Fever, #2) by Karen Marie Moning 5 hearts
I re-read this as part of the read-along I’m hosting with Smexy Books. Totally worth re-reading. Love this series big time!
Faefever (Fever, #3) by Karen Marie Moning 5 hearts
So glad we are re-reading this series. So much information was giving in this book. I forgot a lot of it and since I’ve already read the series I picked up on so much more on the re-read.
The Christmas Fantasy by KT Grant 3.5 hearts
This was a fun Christmas romance about a young woman dealing with body image who had decided to it’s time to lose her virginity to the handsome firefighter she’s been in love with for years. Very steamy.
Immortal Champion (Immortal Brotherhood, #3) by Lisa Hendrix 4 hearts
Bull shifter. Yes, you read that right. A very nice paranormal historical. I usually read regency so this was a nice change. Review to come.
Secrets of a Summer Night (Wallflowers, #1) by Lisa Kleypas 4 hearts
I kept having the feeling that I shouldn’t be enjoying this book as much as I was. A group of wallflowers scheming to catch husbands. But these ladies are just lovely and so fun. I am in love with Lisa Kleypas historicals.
It Happened One Autumn (Wallflowers, #2) by Lisa Kleypas 4 hearts
Another lovely story. So passionate, sexy and fun.
Devil in Winter (Wallflowers, #3) by Lisa Kleypas 5 hearts
I think I have a new favorite book boyfriend. Lord St. Vincent rocks my world. He is so deliciously bad, he is horrible and I love him. Back away ladies this rake is MINE.
Scandal in Spring (Wallflowers, #4) by Lisa Kleypas 4 hearts
Another wonder wallflower installment. I devoured this series this month.
A Wallflower Christmas (Wallflowers, #5) by Lisa Kleypas 4 hearts
And of course I had to go for this one as well. It is Christmas after all. I had to.
Mine Till Midnight (The Hathaways, #1) by Lisa Kleypas 3 hearts
I’m not sure if I like The Hathaways as much as I liked The Wallflowers but I did enjoy this book. I also how we get a few cameos from the Wallflower characters.
Seduce Me at Sunrise (The Hathaways, #2) by Lisa Kleypas 4 hearts
Well, what can I say, I love me some Kev. So tortured. As much as I love a dirty rake, there is just something about a tortured hero. *swoon*
The Art of Losing by Lisa Troy DNF
After reading 1/3 of this book it hadn’t pulled me in and grabbed my attention so I moved on. There was nothing I particularly disliked, I just wasn’t taken in. So, I may pick this one up again later.

I´m glad to see that I was not the only one who was lazy in December!
And I totally agree, I want Shadowfever NOW!
I honestly might have to pick up on an idea like this! I like seeing the short quick reviews and the reasons why you didn’t finish reading a few of them.
